Governmental Affairs Update

Hello and Happy Holidays to Everyone!!!

Here is just a short update on what is happening in the world of Governmental Affairs within our Association!

Please join us for an open house at the Association office during business hours all this week! We have a wide variety of cookies, as well as coffee and cider. We are conveniently located in the center of Baxter’s shopping district making it a great place to take a break from your busy shopping and put up your feet for a bit.

The Association sent in comments on the Proposed CWC Land Use Ordinance on Friday. You all should have received these comments in an email that day. Please review these and if you would like to further comment on this Ordinance please do so by the end of today, December 20, 2010. http://www.greaterlakesrealtors.com/Weekly%20Emails/2010%20Weekly%20E-News/COUNTY%20Ordinance%20Comments-PDF.pdf for more information please visit: www.co.crow-wing.mn.us.

Is there someone in your office who can’t get enough of those City and County Meetings? Or someone who is always caught up on the LATEST and GREATEST local news of the day? Well let’s put that knowledge to good use as a GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS DETECTIVE for the Greater Lakes Association of REALTORS®. As a Governmental Affairs Detective (GAD) this person would help the Association stay one step ahead of changes that are happening within our area. If you know someone who would be perfect for this position please have them contact Marissa at the Association Office for further instructions on how to become a Governmental Affairs Detective today!

Also, a packet regarding the School of the Future Competition through the NAR has been sent out to your offices. If you or any of the office REALTORS® or staff are interested in participating in this great opportunity please call Marissa at the Association office to obtain school contact information and a informational DVD for Principals and Teachers. Competition registration will not be until next fall, however by informing schools of the competition early they will have ample time to prepare. For more information on the program visit: www.realtor.org/schooldesign OR www.cefpi.org/sbw.
